What type of gamer am I?
1.)
What Type of gamer am I?
I prefer sand box and puzzle games but sometimes I venture into a some other indie games that stand out to me and are a lot of fun to play, I like games where I can work towards or develop my character whether its gaining new item, levelling or building things. freedom and unique quality is a massive part of appeal when I'm looking at new games to buy, I like to play in artistic game universes that are immersive to explore like in assassins creed, ratchet and clank or remember me where a lot of art is incorporated as its what initially inspired me to become a concept artist for games.
How much of a gamer am I?
I regularly play games for lots of different reasons, firstly because I like puzzles and mental challenges so I easily get addicted to game apps on my I pad where I have to solve puzzles like "unblock me", secondly when I cant think of what to draw or paint I play games like ratchet and clank or remember me that are very stylized so I can get inspired by what makes them unique and the colour schemes and artistic shots etc. Finally because when I need to de-stress and I have a couple hours to waste I like to switch off and completely immerse myself in a game.
Do I play a lot of Games? Or do I play a selection of a few games?
I tend to only play sandbox games, adventure games and RPG's, I don't really play any online games as I tend to play games that are nostalgic to me or artistic, I play a lot of old PS2 games like Prince of Persia although the graphics and creativity of modern indie games like journey inspire me.

2.)
Why Do I play games? What do I find so enjoyable about them?
I play games because they inspire me, the amount of characters, concepts, worlds, powers, outfits and intricate stories and morals behind games are almost infinite and provoke and provide enough ideas to last a lifetime and the characters, worlds and stories you encounter can stay with you for a very long time which is what gives them such a nostalgic enjoyable immersive quality for me.
If I don't play many games is there a reason? What do I think would encourage me to play more regularly?
If I end up not playing regularly its normally because I'm too busy with other things, however when im stressed about an upcoming presentation or am just stressed in general playing games helps me wind down
3.)
What gaming platforms have I owned in my lifetime?
Game boy Advance, PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and old Nokia phone with snake on it, Gaming Computer.
4.)
What is my earliest gaming memory?
When I used to visit the paediatric unit in hospital when I was young because I had epilepsy there was a Nintendo 64 with Mario on it in the waiting room. it was the first 3D Mario game to come out and I never came off it when I was there, I was gutted when I was told I couldn't play it until my epilepsy was treated/unless I grew out of it which luckily I did.
5.)
What is my favourite platform for playing games? Why is this? and is there a gaming platform I particularly dislike?
probably the gaming PC, not only because I can multitask playing on emulators with any game I want (usually Pokémon Fire Red) with listening to music or streaming my favourite shows like Sherlock but I can do almost anything on it and the online play is free, steam allows me to purchase games for normally less than half they're retail price and because of the gaming computer I have I have much more space than what most consoles have and I don't have to use memory cards.
If I had to name a gaming platform I particularly dislike it would probably have to be the Xbox 360 because it overheats and crashes so much, its fairly slow, you have to pay monthly (£10) for the online play too.
6.)
What is my favourite genre, series, or individual game? and why?
Favourite genre of game is probably either sandbox games or role playing adventure games which have a unique art direction, the art direction part is obvious due to my previous answers to these questions but I like sandbox games because I like the creative freedom being the creative artistic person I am
